Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350° F. Grease a 9x13 baking dish or an 11x11 square spring form pan. 2. Combine flour, baking powder, and salt and set aside. 3. In a mixing bowl using a hand or stand mixer, beat together the sugar and melted butter for about 3-5 minutes on medium speed. 4. Add in eggs and vanilla extract. Beat together. 5. Alternating flour and buttermilk, add until fully combined. 6. Bake for 30 minutes. Check around 25 minutes as it might bake in 28 minutes. If using a 9x13 cake pan, it could take up to 35 minutes. 7. While the cake is baking, make instant pudding by following the box instructions. 8. Make your whipped cream by beating together heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Put pudding and whipped cream in the fridge. 9. Slice your bananas. 10. Remove cake from oven and let it sit for 5 minutes. Poke holes in the top of the cake. Let the cake sit for another 10 minutes. 11. Remove instant pudding from fridge and pour over the cake and smooth out. 12. Layer bananas on top of the pudding and add a handful of full wafers. Sprinkle crushed wafers on top of the pudding. 13. Take whipped cream out of the fridge and spread a layer of whipped cream on top of the cake. Pipe the remaining whipped cream on top of the smooth layer. Crush wafers and garnish if desired with two sliced banana and a couple wafers!View original recipe
