A homemade baked donut recipe featuring vanilla and cinnamon sugar, topped with a sweet vanilla glaze. Perfect for breakfast or a delightful snack.

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 C). Grease donut pans. Into a large bowl, sift together the flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. In a small bowl, whisk together the egg, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Stir the wet mixture into the dry ingredients until just combined. Pipe the batter into the baking pans, filling each one a little more than three-quarters full. Bake for 12 minutes, until donuts rise and are not wet on top. Allow to cool for 5 minutes, then tap the donuts out onto a sheet pan or cooling rack. For the topping, combine powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk in a bowl and mix for 2-3 minutes until combined and thickened. Take cool donuts and dunk into the bowl of vanilla glaze and then place back on cooling rack to dry! Feel free to add sprinkles to the donuts after you glaze them!
