1. Donuts- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. 2. Grease donut pans. Into a large bowl, sift together the flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. In a small bowl, whisk together the egg, milk, melted butter, and vanilla. 3. Stir the wet mixture into the dry ingredients until just combined. We use a stand mixer for the donuts but you do not have to. 4. Pipe the batter into the baking pans, filling each one a little more than three-quarters full. 5. Bake for 12 minutes, until donuts rise and are not wet on top. Allow to cool for 5 minutes, then tap the donuts out onto a cooling rack. 6. For the topping, melt the 6 tbsp of butter into a dish big enough to dunk your donut in. Combine the sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl. 7. Dip each donut first in the butter and then in the cinnamon sugar, we dunk both sides but for the ones we topped with red frosting we only dunked some of the sides! Be Creative!
