Sticky Caramel Apple Donuts

*1 1/2 cups sugar 
*2 tsp baking powder
*1 tsp ground cinnamon 
*1/2 tsp nutmeg *1/2 tsp apple pie spice 
*1/2 tsp salt 
*1 Lg egg
*1 1/4 cups whole milk 
*2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted 
*1 tsp pure vanilla extract Caramel Topping: *1 cup of soft caramel candies @werthersoriginalus *3-4 tbsp heavy cream Fried Apples: *1 apple, diced Additional Toppings: *Chocolate drizzle, 1/3 cup chocolate chips @nestletollhouse and 1 tbsp heavy cream *Crushed pecans, optional Instructions: 1. Donuts- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. 2. Grease donut pans. Into a large bowl, sift together the flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, apple pie slice and salt. In a small bowl, whisk together the egg, milk, melted butter, and vanilla. 3. Stir the wet mixture into the dry ingredients until just combined. We use a stand mixer for the donuts but you do not have to. 4. Pipe the batter into the baking pans, filling each one a little more than three-quarters full. 5. Bake for 12 minutes, until donuts rise and are not wet on top. Allow to cool for 5 minutes, then tap the donuts out onto a sheet pan. 6. For the topping, melt soft caramel candies for 1 minute 30 seconds and add 3-4 tbsp of heavy cream and stir to liking. 7. Dip each donut first in the caramel. 8. Optional, dice up an apple and air fry for 8 minutes at 375 till crisp! Sprinkle fried apples and crushed pecans on top of your donuts. 9. We melted 1/3 cup of chocolate chips and 1 tbsp of heavy cream for 60 seconds and drizzled on top as well!
