A classic banana loaf recipe with the added twist of pecans and bitter-sweet chocolate chips, perfect as a late-night snack or dessert.

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease bottom of 9x5- or 8x4-inch glass loaf pan with butter or cooking spray. In large bowl, beat sugar and softened butter with a spoon. Beat in eggs. Stir in mashed bananas, milk, and vanilla until blended smooth. In a small bowl, mix flour, baking soda, salt, chocolate chips and pecans. Add this dry mixture to the banana mixture all at once; stir just until dry ingredients are moist. Pour into the prepared glass loaf pan. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let bread cool for 25 minutes and then remove from pan.
